As the years pass without my Mom, I am often reminiscing the days of being dragged into one of her hobbies- raiding garage sales. My gift for thrift was cultivated during the countless summer Fridays, where she would strap me and my sister into her Jeep, on to find the next treasure for her home. She was a creative and resourceful woman, and thankfully, she left these traits behind for her daughters.
My Mom may have thrifted to decorate her home at a low cost, but I’d like to take this hobby one step further. I’m here to persuade you that using previously owned materials is not only fun and will save you money, but will also ensure a sense of sustainability for our generations to come. Taking a stand for second hand has helped unlock the creative and resourceful gift my Mom passed down to me, in hopes that I can now pass it on to you.
